EdgyPro Chrome Extension Not Working? Setup, Updates & School Chromebook Fixes

Updated October 2026 5 min read EdgyPro Team

The EdgyPro Chrome extension removed most of the things that used to go wrong with a Tampermonkey install, but "most" isn't "all". This page is every extension problem we've seen so far, in the order you should check them, plus how extension updates actually work so the "Outdated Version" popup makes sense.

The 30-second checklist

  • Is EdgyPro enabled at chrome://extensions?
  • Did you reload the Edgenuity tab after installing?
  • Is a Tampermonkey copy of EdgyPro also running? Disable it.
  • Are you on student.edgenuity.com or student.ex.edgenuity.com, not the login page or course catalog?

The Menu Doesn't Show Up

  1. Check the extension is on. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions, brave://extensions). EdgyPro should be listed with its switch on. If it isn't listed at all, the install didn't finish; add it again from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Reload Edgenuity. Extensions only attach to pages loaded after they're installed. Press F5 on the Edgenuity tab (or close and reopen it).
  3. Right page? The menu loads on the student dashboard, course map and lesson pages. It doesn't appear on the auth.edgenuity.com login screen.
  4. Incognito or a Guest profile? Extensions are off there by default. Use your normal profile, or allow EdgyPro in incognito from its details page.
  5. Site access. On the extension's details page, make sure "Site access" is set to "On all sites" or at least includes edgenuity.com. Chrome sometimes defaults new extensions to "On click".

"Blocked by Your Administrator"

If the Web Store page shows that message, or the extension installs and is immediately greyed out with a building icon, your school's Google Admin policy blocks it on that device or account. There's no safe workaround on the managed device itself. Options that avoid it:

Signing into a personal Google account on an enrolled Chromebook doesn't help; device policies apply to every profile. The Chromebook guide has the full breakdown.

Two Menus, or Buttons Clicking Twice

That's two copies of EdgyPro on one page: the extension plus the old Tampermonkey script. Before removing the old copy, open Customize → Export in its menu and save the settings code. Then open the Tampermonkey dashboard, switch the EdgyPro script off (or delete it), reload Edgenuity and use Customize → Import in the extension's menu to restore your preferences. Your key still works (it's tied to your account), but theme, font and Discord settings stored by Tampermonkey don't transfer on their own.

"Outdated Version" Popup

EdgyPro compares the script version it's running with the latest release on our server. With the extension you shouldn't see this often, because:

If it keeps coming back after a day: open chrome://extensions, switch on Developer mode (top right), press Update (top left), then reload Edgenuity. Still stuck? Remove EdgyPro and add it again from the Web Store; nothing is lost. The Outdated Version guide covers the same popup on Tampermonkey, EdgyOne and iPhone.

Extension FAQ

Why doesn't the EdgyPro menu show up on Edgenuity?

Check that the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions, reload the Edgenuity tab, and make sure no Tampermonkey copy of EdgyPro is also running. On managed school Chromebooks the extension may be blocked by policy.

How do I update the EdgyPro extension?

You usually don't have to: the extension refreshes the EdgyPro script on its own and Chrome updates the extension itself. To force it, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode and press Update, then reload Edgenuity.

The Chrome Web Store says "blocked by your administrator". What now?

Your school's policy blocks extensions on that device or account. Use a personal device, the EdgyOne app on Windows or Mac, or a phone or tablet with a Safari userscript app instead.
