Edgenuity EdgeEx: What It Is and How EdgyPro Works on It
If your Edgenuity class suddenly looks different, with a new player, a new course map and a web address
that starts with student.ex.edgenuity.com, your school has moved you to Edgenuity
EdgeEx. Here's what EdgeEx is, what changed from the Edgenuity you're used to, and how
EdgyPro now supports it.
In a nutshell
- EdgeEx is Edgenuity's newer student experience. The older one is usually called Classic.
- EdgyPro now works on both. Same userscript, same key, same menu.
- On EdgeEx, Auto Answers handles quizzes, tests, assignments and instructions on its own.
What Is Edgenuity EdgeEx?
EdgeEx is the newer version of the Edgenuity student platform. It runs at
student.ex.edgenuity.com instead of student.edgenuity.com and replaces the
Classic activity player with a redesigned one. Your courses, teachers and grades are still Edgenuity,
but the way lessons, questions and navigation are built underneath is completely different. That's
why tools made only for Classic Edgenuity stop working when a school switches over.
EdgeEx vs Classic Edgenuity: What Changed
- A new player. Activities open in a single-page player with a Next / Submit button and page counter instead of Classic's frame-by-frame stage.
- Every activity is graded. Assignments and instructions are scored like quizzes, so there's no separate "ungraded" track to skip through.
- New question types and layouts. Multiple choice, multi-select, dropdowns, fill-in-the-blank, matching and written responses all look and behave differently than they did on Classic.
- A new course map. Units and activities are laid out differently, and progress is tracked per page.
How to Tell If You're on EdgeEx
Check the address bar. If it starts with student.ex.edgenuity.com, you're on EdgeEx. If it's
student.edgenuity.com or r##.core.learn.edgenuity.com, you're on Classic. Some
students have classes on both, and EdgyPro handles each one automatically.
What EdgyPro Can Do on EdgeEx
EdgyPro loads the same menu on EdgeEx that you use on Classic, with your theme and settings intact. These features work on EdgeEx today:
- Auto Answers: answers graded questions from EdgyPro's answer database, with AI as a backup for questions it hasn't seen yet. Because every EdgeEx activity is graded, it also covers assignments and instructions. Read how it works.
- Auto Advance, Advance Delay & Submit Delay: moves through pages and submits once everything is answered, at the pace you set.
- AI Answers: an Ask AI button on each question, plus written responses for essays and short answers.
- Brainly Search: a one-click Brainly search under each question.
- Discord Logging: progress, completions and scores sent to your own webhook.
- Page Dark Mode, Custom Background, Video Brightness & Hide Personal Info: the same look-and-privacy tools you have on Classic.
A few Classic features, like Auto Vocab, Skip Intros and Frame Unlocker, don't apply to EdgeEx's player. They're tucked into a "Disabled on EdgeEx" group in the menu, and tapping one explains why.
Setting Up EdgyPro on EdgeEx
If you already use EdgyPro, there's nothing to do. Open your EdgeEx class and the menu appears just like it does on Classic. New to EdgyPro? Follow the Tampermonkey setup guide, redeem your key in the menu, and turn on the features you want. The built-in tutorial walks you through the rest.
Edgenuity EdgeEx FAQ
Does EdgyPro work on Edgenuity EdgeEx?
Yes. EdgyPro supports both Classic Edgenuity and EdgeEx with the same userscript and key. The menu detects which one you're on and loads the right features.
Do I need a separate key for EdgeEx?
No. Any EdgyPro key works on both Classic and EdgeEx classes.
Why did my school switch to EdgeEx?
Edgenuity is moving schools to its newer platform over time. Your school or district decides when your classes move, so you may see a mix of Classic and EdgeEx classes for a while.
What if EdgyPro can't answer a question on EdgeEx?
For the rare question it can't handle, EdgyPro pauses and lets you know with a short "Question Needs You" message. Answer that one yourself and it picks back up from there.
