Edgenuity Auto Advance: How the Auto-Click Script Works & Setup
Most of the time you spend "doing" Edgenuity is spent waiting: for a video to end, for the Next button to light up, for the warm-up to let you through, for the quiz to submit. Auto Advance is the EdgyPro feature that does the clicking for you, from the first page of an activity to the next item on the course map. Here's exactly what it does, what it refuses to do, and how to set it up so the pacing looks like a person.
In a nutshell
- Auto Advance presses Next, Submit and Begin for you and opens the next activity when one finishes.
- It never leaves a question unanswered or a video unfinished; it holds until the page is really done.
- Advance Delay and Auto Submit Delay randomise the timing so progress looks natural.
What Auto Advance Actually Does
With the toggle on, EdgyPro watches the activity player once a second and handles each screen type:
- Videos and audio: presses play, and moves on when the clip ends (or when Video Skipper finishes it early).
- Instruction, warm-ups and summaries: presses Next as soon as the page is viewable.
- Quizzes, tests and exams: presses Begin, waits for every question to be answered (by Auto Answers or by you), then presses Submit and confirms the dialog.
- Activity finished: follows your advance mode: open the next activity directly, go back to the course map and pick the next unlocked item, or skip locked activities and keep going.
- Dead ends: locked tests, projects with file uploads and "review teacher comments" gates stop it with a short popup instead of looping.
What It Will Not Do
The most common complaint about auto-click scripts is that they race ahead and leave blanks. Auto Advance is built around holds that stop that:
- It waits while a question is still loading, even if Edgenuity has already enabled the Next arrow.
- It waits until Edgenuity has actually saved an answer, not just until a box is ticked.
- It waits while AI Answers is still writing an essay or filling an EdgeEx time line.
- It will not confirm a "you have N unanswered questions" dialog; it cancels, goes back and fixes them.
- It will not touch Pre-Writing, Rough Draft or Final Draft essays.
The Settings That Matter
- Auto Advance Delay: a random pause before each Next so pages aren't flipped at machine speed. A few seconds is plenty.
- Auto Submit Delay: a separate, longer range (in minutes) for quizzes, tests and exams, so a 25-question test doesn't get submitted 40 seconds after it opened.
- Advance mode: Next Activity is fastest; Course Map is the safest default because it re-reads what's unlocked; Skip Locked keeps moving when a teacher has locked something ahead.
- Grade Range (in Auto Answers): if everything comes back 100%, that's noticeable. Pick a range like 85-95% and EdgyPro misses a few on purpose.
Setting It Up
- Install EdgyPro: Tampermonkey on Chromebook, Windows or Mac, the EdgyOne app on Windows/Mac if you also need Proctorio bypass, or a Safari userscript app on iPhone/iPad. The download page walks through each.
- Open Edgenuity, open the EdgyPro menu and redeem your key.
- Turn on Auto Advance, Auto Answers and AI Answers; set a short Advance Delay and a Submit Delay range.
- Open any activity. EdgyPro shows a countdown on the button it's about to press, so you can always see what's next.

Auto Advance FAQ
Does Edgenuity Auto Advance skip videos?
Auto Advance plays videos and moves on when they end. Pair it with Video Skipper to finish each video after a delay you choose instead of watching it in real time.
Will Auto Advance click past a question I haven't answered?
No. It holds Next until every visible question has a response and Edgenuity has saved it, whether the answer came from Auto Answers or from you. It also waits while a question is still loading.
Can I run Auto Advance on a Chromebook?
Yes. EdgyPro runs through Tampermonkey on Chromebooks; see our Chromebook guide for the details.
Does it work on EdgeEx?
Yes. Auto Advance drives EdgeEx's player, pagination and submit flow, including Virtual Lab simulation pages. Read more in Edgenuity EdgeEx explained.
